Career Path

From fax servers to flex space

Thirty years of Tucson tech, one through-line: build the software, then build the business around it. Or, as my LinkedIn has put it for years, “software entrepreneur with dreams of global conquest.”

  1. 1995 – 2004

    RightFax (Captaris)

    Senior Software Engineer

Nine years deep in C++, COM and Exchange, writing the code inside RightFax — the enterprise fax server that companies around the world quietly trusted with their most important documents. It taught me the first rule of business software: it has to just work.

  2. 2004 – 2007

    3M

Senior Software Engineer → Software Architect

Took my craft to one of the world's great innovation companies and moved up from senior engineer to software architect — learning how products get designed, shipped and supported at serious scale.

  3. 2007 – 2025

    Inphonite

    Owner & CTO

The founder leap. Nearly eighteen years building voice and messaging technology — including automated appointment reminders that kept businesses' calendars full and their no-shows down — before a successful exit.

  4. 2021 – Now

    Spoke Coworking

    Current

    Owner, CEO & Tech Geek

Bet big on Tucson's independent professionals and hybrid teams: two locations, private offices, meeting rooms and a community of businesses and freelancers who'd rather not work from the kitchen table. Yes, “Tech Geek” is part of the official title.

  5. Now

    Hubgnome

    New

    Space management platform

Where the two careers meet. Running coworking spaces showed me exactly what the software was missing, so I'm building it: a new platform for running flexible workspaces — bookings, members, websites and newsletters in one place. This very page runs on it.

Our best customers are established, revenue-producing professionals and business leaders who value professionalism, privacy, reliability and flexibility.

They usually contact Spoke when they hire someone in Tucson, outgrow a home office, begin meeting clients in person, need a professional business address, or want to avoid a conventional long-term lease.

  • “I don't want my home address online.”
